The N word is an abusive word that should have gone with the transatlantic slave trade!
Black people are not the N word, and we do no need to be reminded of it, nor should it be used to refer to us. There are many words in the English language (and other languages, not to limit ourselves) we can use to refer to each other; the N word is not one of them.
The N word should not be used by anyone black, white, blue, green or brown. It does not uplift us, and is a continued source of contention. If we as black people do not work hard to remove it from widespread use this will be a word that our children, grandchildren, and beyond, will hear and possibly use, all to the erosion of their self esteem and self worth.
Words do hurt, so let us lovingly correct those who use the N word, and ultimately let us use words that will uplift us.
